He Is OUR GOD!

“Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.” 1 Chronicles 29.11

What a powerful description of the Lord: “Thine, O LORD, is … “ (1) the greatness, (2) the power, (3) the glory, (4) the victory, and (5) the majesty. It is one thing to say that the Lord is our “all in all”, meaning He is all we need. But to give specificity to WHO God is helps us understand Him better. GREATNESS tells us of Person and His immensity. POWER, of course, speaks of His omnipotence. GLORYy speaks to us of what we experience when we are in His presence – and we are in His presence all the time. VICTORY is what we have when we rest “our all” in Him. MAJESTY seems to sum up all the other qualities into one word.
These uniquely descriptive words of God the Father certainly give credibility to the portion of the verse that follows: “all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.” Notice that EVERYTHING belongs to God. All that is in the heaven and in the earth belongs to Him. Satan may be the “prince of the power of the air,” but everything here BELONGS to God. The kingdom in heaven is His and the kingdom that is coming to earth when Christ returns is His too. He is “EXALTED as head above all.”And just think, this God has chosen to be involved in the lives of His children on a daily basis. When you and I speak His name, we have His ear. He IS listening and He does desire what is best for us ALL THE TIME. Just my thoughts …
