“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10.9-10
This message is not only life changing, it is world changing. I wonder how many of us realize that there are parts of the world where this message has never been heard. I have always been in a church where missions has been one of the main thrusts of their ministry.
The gospel-preaching missionaries who are scattered around the globe are doing their part to reach as many as they can, but there are not enough people going to reach the whole world. There are parts of this world where the inhabitants do not even know that God has a Son, let alone that He died to save them.
How important is this message to YOU? If God asked you to go to some far-flung part of the world where the gospel has never been heard, would you? If you are part of a church that emphasizes missions with a Mission Conference each year and missionaries reporting to the church on a regular basis, are you giving regularly to missions? If your church uses Faith Promise Mission Giving as its way of generating funds for worldwide missions, are you part of that crowd that makes a commitment each year and gives regularly to Faith Promise Missions?
One of the things I hear every missionary say is that they need our prayers more than our money. It takes money to go, but it takes prayer to stay. Take a look at your prayer list. How many missionaries are on it? Would you make a covenant with God today that you are willing to do whatever He wants you to do regarding worldwide missions? That may be going, that may be giving, and it will surely be praying! Just my thoughts …
