“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121.1-2
It is really difficult to not include all the verses of this wonderful Psalm. Consider this simple truth that the psalmist declares: “My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” Let that soak in for a moment. The same God who made heaven and earth is available to us to help with whatever we need.
You may be thinking, “He doesn’t have time for me. I am nobody. Besides that, I am facing an impossible situation.” Ever felt that way? Maybe you feel that way right now. I have good news for you. He DOES have time for you. Jesus died for every NOBODY who ever lived. Compared to Jesus, we are ALL nobodies.
Let’s talk about “impossible situations.” Genesis 1.2: “the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.” THAT was an impossible situation, but God could handle it. He simply said, “Let there be light, and there was light.” Nine (9) times in 31 verses we read, “And God said …” and every time that which followed took care of another “impossible” situation.
I want us to look at the remainder of this Psalm:
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper:
the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and
even for evermore.
So, what is God saying in all of this? “Your help (whatever you need) comes from me. Just ask.” Think about it. Just my thoughts …
